ICB lauded for role in educating youth

As education is a priority for the government, a teachers’ training system will be introduced, in which the Islamabad College for Boys (ICB) institutions will play a significant role.
Prime Minister’s Task Force on Islamabad Chairman Faisal Sakhi Butt stated this while meeting with the ICB alumni at the Islamabad College for Boys, G-6/3 on Tuesday.
Faisal Sakhi Butt said the ICB has been providing quality education to its students in the federal capital, adding that its legacy will be highlighted by properly activating the old students’ organisation, which will help in generating financial support, enhancing the quality of education and training teachers in collaboration with the private sector.
He stated that this was only educational institute which served students irrespective of their cast, creed and social class.
He added that the ICB’s former students are serving the nation at coveted posts.
He urged the management of the colleges to utilise their professional skills in providing quality education to the students, enabling them to meet the challenges of the future, both at national and international levels.
Sakhi Butt said currently, it is the era of science and technology, therefore the introduction of new teaching techniques was necessary.
Faisal Sakhi Butt stated that proper meetings of the alumni will be called as per schedule to resolve the issues, adding that a grand reunion ceremony will be organised for the ICB alumni.
ICB Principal Professor Anwar Ali Khan said the prestigious institute has educated thousands of students in the last 30 years and that more than 500 former students of the institute were working at high level positions in Pakistan and abroad.
ICB Vice-Principal Professor Shafqat Hussain, Professor Dr Muhammad Anwar, Intellectual Property Organisation Chairman Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, Dr Ahmad Sohail, Humayun Toro, Ahsain Bhatti and members of the alumni were also present at the meeting.
