Gender discrimination

I invite the kind attention of the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan to the recent advertisement published in the newspaper, for regular commission in the Pakistan Army 130 PMA long courses.

Under the eligibility conditions, the females are not allowed to apply and only males are eligible. This is discrimination when the constitutions of Pakistan guarantees equal rights to the citizens irrespective of their gender, when 50 percent of the citizens are female, and they have already proved that they are capable of flying fighter jets and can perform those jobs that have been the domain of males earlier.

Why deprive the females from serving the country as an army soldier or an officer? Islamic history does have female commanders who fought wars. Are courage and bravery the domain of males only? Why should we not respect the right of women to have equal participation in the affairs of the state?
