Traffic police launches operation against encroachments

The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has launched operation against encroachers who have occupied the area by establishing stalls across the road, which is creating inconvenience for the transporters and the pedestrians.
The operation was launched from Khawaja Corporation to Chungi No 20 and all the area was cleared from the encroachers. The CTP also demolished the illegal stalls across the road and took the area back into their control.
The CTP said that vendors and their stalls were hampering the smooth traffic flow and causing road accidents. The CTP stated that the encroachers occupied the area for long time and it was inevitable for the department to take strong operation against them as they were also making illegal structures across the roads and causing worst traffic mess.
Low-quality fruits,
vegetables selling in
markets: Several stallholders in markets and weekly bazaars of the capital are selling the unhygienic fruits and vegetables due to the negligence of district administration, the residents of twin cities said on Monday.
The people usually rush to the Sunday Bazaars due to the fewer rates of the commodities than in the market but some vendors are busy in selling low quality fruits and deceiving the commuters by selling unhygienic commodities, while the vendors are of the view that they sell germ-infested type of fruits on a very low rate. The residents of the twin cities demanded of the administration to take strong action against the vendors who are selling low quality fruits and vegetables in the Sunday Bazaar of the capital city.
Hanging live wires threat to lives: The hanging power cables and electric meters installed in the open boxes in the parking area that are posing a great threat to the lives of commuters and vendors of the Jinnah Super Market.
The commuters have to park their vehicles near these open boxes having a lot of cables in it, one of the traders said. Some retailers have submitted applications to the authorities of Wapda for several times but they are not working to revamp these boxes, traders said.
These hanging cables and opened boxes of meters in the parking area are posing a great threat to the lives of commuters because no vehicles have any current proof metals in its composition, some of the citizens said. The residents, vendors and civil society have demanded of the administration to take notice of the situation and issue directives in this regard to revamp these hanging cables and open boxes of meters as early as possible to counter any miserable incident.
