The prices of vegetables decreased at Sunday bazaars while the prices of chicken kept increasing. The chicken prices kept increasing and touched Rs 230 per kg. In vegetables, the prices of garlic, spinach and ginger showed a significant decline while the prices of onions, tomatoes, lemon and potatoes increased. Out of 32 listed vegetables with market committee, the prices of 12 vegetables including spinach, brinjal, cauliflower, garlic and ginger prices decreased. The prices of 10 vegetables including tomatoes, onions, lemon and potatoes increased as compare to last week while the prices of 10 vegetables like peas, ginger (china) and garlic (India) showed no change. The inspection teams of DCO visited different Sunday bazaars and also fined Rs 3,000 to shopkeepers for selling products at higher prices. The prices of chicken are increasing for the last two months and once again this week it showed a Rs 5 per kg increase and it was sold for Rs 230 per kg. The chicken sellers said that there sales had declined due to high chicken prices.
