Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Saturday expressed shock over the loss of lives and trapping of soldiers of the Pakistan Army in a snow slide at Gayari Sector in Siachin.
The Prime Minister, who is in constant contact with the authorities concerned regarding the rescue operation, said the incident in no way would undermine the high morale of soldiers and officers. He also asked the authorities to keep him abreast of the ongoing rescue operation. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), around 100 army personnel came under a snow slide early this morning at Gayari Sector near Skardu.
Hectic rescue efforts have started and sniffing dogs, helicopters and troops are at the site to undertake rescue efforts. Army sources said heavy engineering machinery has also been moved in from Rawalpindi by air to speed up the rescue work.
Overcharging of fare irks commuters: Citizens have protested against overcharging of wagon and Suzuki fare by Rs 3 from stop to stop by owners of Toyota Hiace and Suzuki’s plying on different routes of twin cities. The wagon drivers have started charging fare Rs 15 instead of Rs 12 from one stop to other stop on the route from Dhok Hafiiz Karal Chowk to Miran Abad, Fwara chowk unilaterally while no notification has been issued by the Transport Authority in this regard. It is injustice with the commuters to charge fare at the rate of Rs 15 even for the distance which is less than one kilometer, said Gulzar Ahmad, a citizen.
“We have also been affected adversely by the hike in the prices of petroleum products but increase in fare by Rs 3 from stop to stop is sheer tyranny, said a group of school teachers. On the other hand Punjab government has not increased fares from 2010 but the wagon drivers are violating blatantly the fares fixed by transport authority.

if anyone has a loved one in pak army or airforce,navy then you would realise wts is to lose a soldier who is shaheed fighting for this land of ours and while they r awake and guard us frm enemies,we sleep peacefully ,soldiers also have their loved ones like all of us,they r also humans with flesh and blood and feelings,yet theyr so bold,brave and outrageously fight and give their lives for us and our motherland,pls guys respect our great soldiers and their precious sacrifices,no one can imagine how it is to be on a battle ground or a threat of war zone area,like u cnt realise how these great soldiers got buried alive in snow while fighting with their lives just to save our country frm infilteration of our enemies!!!
who cares what happens here,everyone is worried about his lookout and nobody cares about the Giari victims except their relatives and families,the people who play over their lives just to save us from being played by hostiles are now in a great trouble and this independent media should be ashamed of preparing a single report of counted seconds about this incident they don't get enough of monitoring bollywood as to get more ratings.We can only invocate to God for these shaheeds may God let their souls in rest!
