Provincial Minister for Education Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that distribution of laptops was the mega project of Punjab government which has laid the foundation of revolution in IT sector in the province. He said the political opponents were opposing the people-friendly projects of PML-N and criticising Punjab government for the sake of criticism. Reacting to the statement of Federal Minister for Information Dr Firdaus Ashiq Awan, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had issued strict instructions for distribution of laptops on merit which were being implemented in letter and spirit. He said laptops were being distributed among the students in a transparent manner without any discrimination in rural and urban areas. He said Dr Firdaus Ashiq Awan should rectify her statement that all projects of Punjab government including laptops distribution were unprecedented. It will be better that federal minister should reform the federal government engaged in loot and plunder and follow the merit policy of Punjab government, the minister concluded.
