Babar Azam steered Pakistan under-19 to a comfortable win over the visiting British University cricket team here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.
British University Charity XI, in reply to Pakistan’s total, were bowled out for 102 runs in 19.3 overs, thus giving the home side a 113-runs win.
Batting first, Pakistan juniors hammered 215 in 20 overs day and night match converted to the shortest version from an ODI after the hot conditions took tool of the visitors in the first match.
Azam in his 121 innings smashed 15 hits across the rope and two over it while facing just 65 balls. He was ably supported by opener Sami Aslam, who in the ODI match cracked a double century, contributed 19-ball 32 and later Saad Ali with his 16-ball 27 lifted the score to authority.
From the visiting side, Mumtaz Habib, Umair Javed, Shahid Ilyas and James Wallace shared one wicket each.
In their chase, the British students fell short of the target. They crumbled to Azizullah and only Shahid Ilyas with 40 runs remained th highest scorer from the losing side while James Wallace was the second best batsman of the visiting team with 18 runs.
Aziz did the main damage to the British batting line up with four wickets. He was supported by Usman Qadir with two wickets while Ehsan Adil and Babar Azam shared one wicket each. Only four of their batsmen reached double figures while there were five ducks in British students batting lineup.
