More than 40 shops were destroyed when fire broke out due to an electric short circuit in a cosmetic market here on
Saturday.
According to details, the fire in a shop at Satiana Road of Faisalabad engulfed the surrounding shops and thick flames and smoke were seen from far away places.
Fire brigades after getting the information reached the scene and started efforts to extinguish the fire and it took more than two hours hectic efforts to control it.
Meanwhile, 40 shops along with cosmetic products and other goods worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes. However, no casualties or injury was reported in the incident.
The affected shopkeepers held WAPDA responsible for the incident and demanded for compensation of losses so that they can restart their business to earn livelihood for their families.
