The Lahore High Court on Thursday sought a report by May 6 from Federal Secretary Cabinet, Secretary Establishment and Managing Director (MD) National Police Foundation (NPF) on a petition against unfair distribution of residential plots to senior police officials by National Police Foundation authorities on basis of favouritism.
Chief justice Lahore High Court, Sh Azmat Saeed, passed the order on a petition filed by former IG police Saleem Ullah Khan. The petition contended that in the National Police Foundation senior police officers grabbed several plots and the low grade police officials had been deprived of the facility of a plot.
He said the National Police Foundation also ignored the families of police martyrs, and police officials below rank of inspectors who, on being injured in duty, became handicapped for the rest of their lives. He said that NPF was giving funds to senior police officers on the basis of favouritism while low grade officials were deprived of the facility of loans.
The LHC CJ, after hearing arguments, awaits a reply from the respondents, federal Secretary Cabinet, Secretary Establishment and NPF’s Managing Director (MD) till May 6.
