Two more Hazara Shias killed in Quetta


Two more members of the Hazara Shia community fell prey to sectarian killing in Quetta on Tuesday night. The banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claimed responsibility for the killing. According to police officials, unidentified armed assailants riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on two different shops on Meconghy Road in the city centre. As a result, two people of the Hazara community were killed. The assailants fled unhindered. Police rushed to the site soon after the incident and moved the injured to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them dead.
The deceased were identified as Ali Akbar and Ali Raza. Gawalmandi Station House Officer (SHO) Shaukat Jadoon was placed under suspension for showing negligence in duty when the incident occurred, however no one has been arrested in this connection. Meanwhile, Ali Sher Haideri, spokesman of defunct Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claimed responsibility for the killing.
