Coordinated efforts directed against dengue

Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal has directed health and other departments concerned to make the ongoing anti-dengue and larvacide campaign more effective by evolving close coordination.
He said spray must be conducted in open areas, public parks, play grounds, cattle sheds and other vulnerable sites after lifting the waste and garbage. He said all the departments concerned should make more coordinated efforts against dengue.
The owners and administration of housing societies should also be made bound for lifting of debries and waste of construction material from the construction sites. Anti-dengue spray must be ensured there, he added.
He further directed DCOs of all districts of the division to chalk out a comprehensive programme and larvacide spray campaign be implemented more speedily and effectively.
He said this while presiding over a review meeting on Dengue, held in commissioner office Rawalpindi. DCOs Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock, Capt.(R) Saqib Zafar, Mirza Mehmood ul Hassan, Ahmed Aziz Tarar and Shakil Ahmed, Principal Rawalpindi Medical College Dr. Musadaq Khan, M.D WASA Raja Muhammad Shoukat, EDO Health Dr. Zafar Iqbal Gondal, EDO Agriculture G.M Gillani, Medical Superintendents of DHQ Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital Dr Sher Ali and Dr. Asif Qadir Mir and representative officers of various departments were also present on this occasion.
Commissioner Rawalpindi said the awareness campaign against dengue should also be expedited to make the citizens aware for adopting precautionary measures in their houses and surroundings. He added that youth especially students must be made aware in schools and colleges and campaign should be taken forward on both precautionary as well as treatment side.
Imdad Ullah Bosal directed Medical Superintendents of the hospitals to make all possible arrangements for treatment of dengue suspect patients if any come to the hospitals.
