The Government of Pakistan and Ministry of Water and Power, on Monday, submitted before the Lahore High Court the electricity load shedding schedule and load management for domestic and industrial consumers on Monday.
Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Sheikh Azmat Saeed, was hearing a petition filed by judicial activism penal chairman, advocate, Muhammad Azhar Siddique. Through the petition he pleaded with the court to get load shedding schedule from WAPDA and give directions to exempt hospitals from load shedding, and provide citizens with the details of taxes, duties, surcharges received by WAPDA from them in the monthly bills. On Monday, the counsel for WAPDA and federal government submitted the load shedding schedule and load management electricity being followed by PEPCO and WAPDA throughout Pakistan. The report said, by load management the load shedding had been divided power distribution to distribution companies according to formula. According to the formula, LESCO was getting 22.06 percent power share, MEPCO 15.04 percent, FESCO 12.06, IESCO 10.02 HESCO 10.02, PESCO 15.05, KESCO 06.01, and KEPCO 09.03.
The report said 4 to 6 hours load shedding will be observed in textile industry, B-4 consumer industry, cement industry, power looms, flour mills, G-Mills, and 10 to 12 hours load shedding is scheduled for steels furnaces, agriculture tube wells and domestic feeders. It also said load shedding for agriculture tube wells will be done as per policy of NPCC. The schedule for October to March last was also submitted before the court in which details were given about the VVIP places exempted from load shedding. In the exempted buildings and offices included hospitals, Sheikh Zayad Hospital, Radio Pakistan, High Courts, chief minister house, governor house. Likewise the report mentioned load shedding schedule for Faiaslabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jehlum, Multan, Dera GAzi Khan for winter and summer. The court adjourned further hearing of the case till April 14, giving a copy of the report to the petitioner counsel for filing rejoinder to it.
In the petition the main argument was that when the whole country, including power-outages in villages, big or small towns were suffering from load shedding while VVIP buildings like Presidency, Prime Minister House, Governor’s House, Chief Minister’s House, Ministers’ House, and others were exempted from load shedding. The counsel argued that the citizens, particularly of Punjab, were duly paying the power bills and the rivers were also full to the brim with water, but the authorities instead of spending money on the generation of power, were looting and squandering the national wealth on their own luxuries. The common man was in anguish on account of no power while the VIPs and VVIPs were enjoying every facility in serious violation of Article 25 of the Constitution which bars discrimination among the citizens of Pakistan on any count, he added and prayed to the court to direct the respondents not to meet any discrimination and treat everyone equally about the load-shedding.
gather money almost Rs. 26000 and purchase imported slim ups at least 1000 VA and fix it in your home and forget load shedding almost 2 batteries of 140 amp. will be changed every year Rs. 16000. you have to spend 16000 every year. the soler system is much expensive till yet. i am not a ups company representative this is reality i am using it or go to another country. dont make hope. peaple are hopless now. all big industries of Pakistan are going to other contries because of loadshedding. all big industrialists are making there own power by deisal, petrol and gas generators.
