The Supreme Court on Tuesday cancelled bail of Shahzain Bugti and his 26 guards in illegal arms case.
Provincial President Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Shahzain Bugti has been facing a case of keeping illegal weapons and was on bail from the Balochistan High Court (BHC).
A larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard a case at the Supreme Court’s Quetta registry against Shahzain Bugti for keeping illegal arms.
After hearing the arguments, the court cancelled Shahzain and his 26 guards’ bail.
Earlier, BHC had granted bail to Shahzain Bugti along with his 26 guards in illegal weapon case.
Frontier Constabulary had arrested Shahzain Bugti after a huge quantity of arms and ammunitions was recovered from one of his convoy’s car.
The seized arms include unlicensed 43 Kalashnikovs, six RPG, two rocket launchers, 70,000 rounds, two RR Guns and several IEDs.
Shahzain Bugti is the grandson of slain Baloch leader and former Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.
