The Sindh government on Monday declared a public holiday in the province on April 4 in connection with the 33rd death anniversary of former PM and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Around 6,000 policemen and 1,000 rangers, women police, traffic police along with bomb disposal squad and commandos reached Larkana, Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto. Hundreds of thousands of followers of Bhutto, including PPP workers and leaders, were also reaching Larkana, Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto to attend the anniversary ceremonies to pay tribute to Bhutto. President Asif Ali Zardari accompanied by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the PM were expected to reach the venue today (Tuesday) and will attend a public gathering at President Camp House Naudero, where the PPP’s CEC meeting will be held.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah reached Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto visited the mausoleum, offered fateha and oversaw arrangements of the anniversary. A mushaira will also be held at the mausoleum and a documentary, depicting the life and achievements of Bhutto will also be shown. Several reception camps have also been established at Larkana and different roots, corners towards Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto and Naudero to accommodate leaders and workers from all provinces.
He was a genius. Unfortunately, an evil genious. He was responsible for breaking up Pakistan because he refused to accept election results in which he lost. He established political wing of ISI. He ordered Pakistan army to fire upon its own citizens (army refused). He ws arrogant. He put Pakistan on the wrong path and Pakistan has never recovered since. He did start the atomic program (for which humpty dumpty takes credit). I don't mean to be disrespectful to the dead man but other than giving Pakistan an atomic bomb (which we can't use), there isn't much that he did for the country.
