PU to conjure up state-of-the-art medical and dental college

Punjab University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran has announced to the establishment of a state-of-the-art constituent medical and dental college with a 150-bedded teaching hospital
on Monday.
Teachers and educationalists appreciated the step. It is important to mention here that PU has a history of being influenced by religious organisations, Dr Kamran has taken the step without succumbing to the pressure.
According to a PU professor, the Punjab CM has complete confidence in the PU VC.
Meanwhile, Dr Mujahid Kamran presided over a meeting held with regard to the establishment of the facility, while project focal person Prof Dr Shaukat Ali, senior faculty members, Prof Dr Sabir Hussain of Army Medical College and Pakistan Red Crescent Dental College Principal Dr Tanveer Ahmad Khan attended the meeting.
Dr Shaukat Ali outlined the initial project plans to the participants and said 100 MBBS students and 50 dental students will be educated in the college. He said that the fee structure of the college would be within the reach of the middle class. He added that medical research will be an integral part of the college and that 15 doctors will guide the project.
He said that a section of the facility will oversee the pharmacy.
The participants of the meeting congratulated Dr Kamran on the project and gave their suggestions the project.
PUCAD organizes ceremony in VC’s honour: Punjab University College of Art and Design employees on Monday hosted a luncheon in honour of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran for his second tenure.
PUCAD Principal Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masood, faculty members and a large number of employees attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, the PU VC lauded the managerial skills of the college principal and said she had deep understanding of the fine arts. He said Prof Masood was well aware of the problems of the employees and made her all efforts to resolve them. Prof Masood thanked the VC for his support in resolving the problems of ther PUCAD.
Expressing their views on the occasion, the employees said the VC always cooperated fully for the prosperity of the employees. They also congratulated Dr Kamran on being elected as VC for the second time.
