Countrywide power crisis has worsened as several power plants failing to get the required oil and gas supplies witnessed low power generation taking the shortfall swirling up to 5700 megawatts on Tuesday.
According to Pepco sources, the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has also cut its oil supply by a half due to non payment, as it is currently supplying only 15,000 tons of furnace oil instead of 33,000.
Pepco sources further said that electricity generation currently stood at 8,000MW and the demand peaking at 14,300MW, which has raised the shortfall to such an extent that Lahore was witnessing load shedding after every hour making the lives of the people miserable.
Despite the government claims, the situation could not improve, Pepco officials said.
