The Lahore High Court on Monday restrained two members of the Appellate Tribunal of the Inland Revenue from holding their offices on a writ petition filed by Anwaar-ul-Haq.
Lahore High Court Justice Umar Ata Bindail issued orders for restraining Muhammad Asghar Paswal and Muhammad Anwer Javed, judicial members of the Appellate Tribunal of Inland Revenue.
In his orders, the judge observed that both the members of the Appellate Tribunal were not eligible for appointment as they did not have 10 years of active experience as advocates of the high court, which was a requirement for their appointment.
It is pertinent to point out that these people were appointed by former law minister Babar Awan and former law secretary Masood Chasit.
