Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Tuesday that first-ever visit of Saudi Minister for Culture and Information Dr Abdul Aziz bin Mohiuddin Al-Khoja to Pakistan would be helpful in formulating a joint media strategy to promote true image of Islam in the world. She said this talking to media after receiving the Saudi Culture and information minister at the Islamabad airport. The Saudi Minister for Culture and Information arrived here on Tuesday for a three-day official visit on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan. She said that the visit will go a long way not only in understanding each other’s culture but would further help strengthen bilateral relations. Dr Firdous said that the two countries would continue to work jointly on every platform for the harmony, unity and progress of Muslims as their peoples were tied in the eternal bond of friendship, trust and brotherhood. The minister said that exchanges in the fields of media and culture would be increased so that both the countries should be able to learn from each other’s best practices. She said that there was great scope for joint production between Pakistan Television and Saudi Television. Similarly, she said that Radio Pakistan and Saudi Radio and Pakistani official news agency APP and Saudi national news agency can also increase cooperation.
