The University of Karachi (UoK) announced its postgraduate admission programme for the new academic year on Sunday.
A university spokesperson said that admissions would be open in MPhil, PhD, MS Surgery and MD Medicine for the session starting this year.
MPhil/PhD programmes are being offered in Agriculture, Botany, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Food Science & Technology, Genetics, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Physiology, Statistics and Zoology.
Moreover, PhD programmes are being offered in Arabic, Economics, Education, General History, International Relations, Islamic History, Mass Communication, Persian, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sindhi, Sociology, Social Work, Special Education, Urdu, Pharmaceutics, Karachi University Business School, Public Administration, Islamic Learning, Quran & Sunnah, Usool-ud-din, Islamic Studies (SZIC), and the faculties of Medicine and Law.
The spokesman pointed out that the prospectus and the entry-test form could be downloaded from the varsity’s website (www.uok.edu.pk) and the complete application along with the required documents and processing fee of Rs 1,000 (in the form of pay order in favour of the UoK) could be submitted to the respective departments, centres or institutes between April 2 and 17.
He said that the list of the eligible candidates for the entry test would be displayed on the university website as well as on the departmental notice board on April 23, and the test would be conducted on May 6.
The eligible candidates would be required to collect their admit cards between April 24 and May 5 from the relevant departments, centres or institutes.
