Transporters warn fare hike after fuel price surge

Inflation-hit masses prepare to receive another blow after transporters contemplate increasing fares by 10-15 percent following hike in the petroleum prices.
Punjab Urban Transport Owners Association Secretary-General Arshad Khan Niazi on Sunday warned of increase in transport fares against recent fuel price hike.
He said the transport fare on inter-city routes will be increased by 5%, while a 10% increase will be imposed during days of CNG stations closure.
According to details, Secretary RTA has not issued any notification regarding fare hike but transport owners in various cities, including Faisalabad and Multan, have already raised fares by 10-15 percent.
