Dr Paul concerned over occupation of temple

Minister-Incharge for National Harmony Dr Paul Bhatti here on Sunday said that government was committed to safeguard the worship places of the minorities in the country and all possible steps were being taken for care and maintenance of these places. Taking notice of the protest of Hindu community members in front of the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad for repossession of their temple, the minister said no one would be allowed to occupy the worship places of the minorities as government was committed to take care of their sacred places. He also directed the authorities concerned to take up the matter and resolve it at the earliest. More than 30 members of Hindu community from Tehsil Zafarwal district Norowal were protesting to seek end of occupation of their temple in their home district on Friday in front of the National Press Club. Dr Paul said they should learn to respect faiths and worship places of each other and demonstrate tolerance to bring peace in the country aimed at promoting interfaith harmony as all the religions are integral part of the society. “The objective of the interfaith harmony can only be achieved through interfaith relationship. Interfaith dialogue and harmony among the people of different faiths can create an environment of peace and tolerance in the society.
