An earthquake of mild intensity measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit northern areas of Pakistan on Saturday morning, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The earthquake took place at 09:16:55 a.m. local time. The epicenter was in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region with a focal depth of 212 kilometers. Tremors were felt in Kashmir, Bunner , Shangla, Chitral, Malakand, Swat, Lower Dir, Mansehra, Abbotabad, Murree and other adjoining areas, said PMD.
No reports about the loss of lives or damages to properties have been reported.
