The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MPAs violated section 144 and marched on The Mall against power outages while debates on power outages continued in the Punjab Assembly, from where they remained absent.
Almost all the PML-N MPA participated in the protest outside the PA and chanted slogans against federal government for discriminating against Punjab.
Provincial Ministers including Nadeem Kamran, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, Ahmed Ali Aulakh, Ehsanud Din and others were present on the occasion. They said the crisis had lead to unemployment in the province.
The session started under the chair of Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan and question hour was about Local Government and Community Development Department. The opposition benches severely criticised Punjab chief minister and government and tried it best to stop the Treasury benches from talking on any issue while the Treasury benches also raised slogans against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership.
Qurom was pointed out after both the Opposition and the Treasury benches started shouting slogans against each other. The session was adjourned for today morning.
