Showcase 2012 day 2: Rainbow on the ramp

The day two of showcase 2012 started on a stronger note despite the tense law and order situation in Karachi. The who’s who of the fashion industry were present to view the collections of the local and foreign designers: Zainab Sajid: opened the second day of showcase 2012 with her brand Aqua by presenting the Mera Pakistan collection, inspired by landmarks such as the Minar-e-Pakistan and had a bold colour palette and dramatic embellishments. Bareeze: Rang Ja, the new prêt line by Bareeze, was bold, contemporary and colourful. The traditional designs celebrated our rich heritage yet embodied style and individuality. Farhan and Ambreen: Their new collection is named ‘Colours of Nature’ and was inspired by the beauty of the natural world, capturing the hues of ‘Sunset and Rainbow’. It represented romance, relaxation and joy. Ellemint: Two young designers showcased their collections under this label. Sofia Naveed Lari’s personal interest in nature was reflected in the simplicity of her designs. Using bright hues paired up with dazzling floral prints, Sofia’s collection was a breath of fresh air. Marya Dada’s collection was inspired by the essence and true feel of Africa, which she captured through her experimentation with colours and prints. Rizwanullah: The collection ‘Art meets fashion’ combined the processes of thought and feeling. Nakul Sen: His brand’s forte lies in its ability to cast a contemporary twist to Indian craftsmanship, while appealing to international tastes. The brand presented an exquisite contemporary evening wear for discerning and stylish women across the world. Nida Khurram: Her collection was rich yet simple. She strived to propel fashion from elite craft into a cornerstone of contemporary popular culture for women all around. Studio FH: Fouzal Hameed’s name is legendary in the men’s fashion industry. His vast knowledge and experience in men’s wear has raised the bar of men’s fashion in Sri Lanka and beyond. For showcase 2012 he presented sporty looking jackets with contrasting pants and shirts, vibrantly coloured summer suits and ceremonial suits. Fnk Asia: The brand’s collection for the finale was all about festivity. The collection was energetic, playful and fun with splashes of yellow and whites, giving the wearer a ‘rise and shine’ feeling.
