If you can pay R. 30,000 to 35,000 per hour to the Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO), you can then be fortunate enough to get uninterrupted electricity, this was revealed by a private TV channel. The channel reported that PEPCO officials had been supplying industrial users a continuous supply of power at the rate of Rs 30,000 to 35,000 per hour while further cutting down power share from domestic users. “It is true that power supply has decreased worsening load shedding in the country, but it is also true that officials at grid stations are involved in supplying illegal electricity to industrial units from the share of local users,” sources said. “Such illegal power supply is being provided in cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sheikhupura and other industrial cities of Punjab, the biggest province of Pakistan.” One industrialist said he was also offered uninterrupted power supply on giving the required amount. “I denied paying any amount and after that my units are facing the worst load shedding ever.”
