Marri asks Altaf to help point out criminals

As the city blacked out after the murder of an activist of MQM, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri put the ball in the coalition partners’ court for maintaining the law and order situation, asking MQM chief Altaf Hussain to cooperate with the government for identifying the criminals.
Early Tuesday morning, daily routine life and business activities in almost all areas of the city came to a standstill after violence erupted in several areas following the murder of MQM’s PIB Colony sector member while over 30 vehicles were set ablaze.
Marri had arranged a press conference at her office after the scheduled meetings of the Sindh Cabinet and the Public Accounts Committee were postponed in the morning. However,
Speaking to the media, the minister vowed that politics of reconciliation would continue and those killing innocent people and torching vehicles in the city were against the elected government.
“Our coalition partner MQM has the mandate in the city and its chief Altaf Hussain should point out the elements involved in killing and torching vehicles,” she said. “Under the reconciliation policy, the MQM has been given the government’s support and in return the MQM should also support the government to ensure peace in the city.”
“The PPP is not afraid of threats received by its ministers and the MPAs and such criminal elements would be exposed soon. Those involved in killing innocent citizens and torching vehicles terrorists cannot be political workers,” Marri said.
Expressing grief and sorrow over the killing of MQM worker, the information minister said that Karachi is the economic hub of the country and any losses to the city directly affect the country’s economy. “Stern action would be taken against those creating a law and order situation in the city.”
According to her, no such incidents took place after the murder of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
“We appeal to the MQM chief to point out the criminals disturbing the law and order situation so that action can be taken against them and people of the city provided with a peaceful atmosphere,” Marri said.

  1. Ms Marri if you are reading this comment then please stop begging Altaf Hussain to help the government. Your government's ridiculous policy of reconciliation has handed over Karachi to MQM thugs. For how long you will pursue this self destructive policy. Where the hell is the CM and for that matter the PM of the country who should be sitting in Karachi to supervise and handle the situation but instead moron Rehman Malik is dispatched to Karachi who provides shield to the thugs.

  3. MQM is a terrorist group as declared by canadian court n US CIA. Altaf Hussain would be hanged publicly in the streets so that MQM is dead for good. They are criminals and extortionist.
