Condemning the recovery of decomposed and bullet-riddled bodies across Balochistan, the Balochistan cabinet expressed serious concern, saying the recovery of such bodies also contributed towards the deteriorating law and order in the province. The cabinet met after a long time with Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani in the chair on Tuesday. Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani and PML-Q MPA Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mondokhail specially attended the meeting. In the wake of highway robberies, Raisani directed deployment of Frontier Corps Balochistan on the section of National Highway between Kalat and Khuzdar for checking the incidents of robberies.
The cabinet strongly dispelled the impression that the government was sitting like a lame duck and making no efforts for the improvement of law and order in Balochistan and decided that the performance of government institutions would be improved to remove such impression. The cabinet described incidents of kidnapping for ransom as a “big challenge” for the government and vowed to cope with it effectively. It said required resources would be provided to police and Levies Force so that their performance could be improved. The cabinet decided that no stone would be left unturned to restore the peace and tranquility in Balochistan. The chief minister reiterated that all possible steps would be taken for the security of the people and their property, rule of law and elimination of anti-social elements. He said anti-Pakistani elements would be dealt with an iron hand, while all cabinet members expressed their complete support in this connection.
