A DAY OF MOURNING

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee announced a day of mourning in Sindh on Tuesday against the killing of its sector member in the PIB Colony area.
The committee announced that a day of mourning would be observed across the province against the martyrdom of Mansoor Mukhtar by the criminals and terrorists of the Lyari gang war and other incidents of terrorism in the city.
“A number of terrorists belonging to the Lyari gang war stormed into the house of Mukhtar early in the morning and killed him by firing at the family indiscriminately. His brother Maqsood Mukhtar and sister-in-law Uzma Maqsood also received bullet injuries,” they said. “The terrorists also ransacked the entire house and took away the valuables. The terrorists also injured Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of Nishtar Basti and Muhammad Amjab, who lives in Ghousia Colony of the PIB Colony.”
The MQM Coordination Committee said that terrorists have been targeting the MQM activists and sympathisers in the PIB Colony area for quite some time, but no action was taken against them.
“The martyrdom of a sector member is a big loss for the MQM for which the day of mourning has been announced in Sindh today.”
The committee added that the courage and resolve of the workers cannot be subsided by such dastardly terrorist attacks.
The coordination committee demanded that President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Home Minister Manzoor Wassan take action against the terrorists involved in the martyrdom of Mukhtar and bring them to justice.
