The IJT staged a protest on Monday outside the Cantt Railway Station against the ANP-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for allegedly deleting Quranic verses and Hadith related to jihad in syllabus of Matriculation.
Leading the protest, IJT Peshawar chief Abdullah Shaheen said that if verses mentioning jihad were not included in the syllabus, protests would be held across the province. The protesters also chanted anti-US slogans and accused the government of deleting Quranic verses to please the US. Shaheen said that the ANP wanted to impose secularism in the province and deletion of Quranic verses from the syllabus was the first step in this regard.
