Isn’t it treason?

Shahbaz Sharif’s made a statement that he would lead the mob towards Presidency if loadshedding is not reduced within 48 hours. Dr Firdaous Ashiq Awan has termed this statement as an act of treason. She is fully justified in saying it so. In fact, Shahbaz Sharif should be tried under section 6 of the Constitution. Why has the genius Dr Awan said so? Let me give supportive arguments:

1. Loadshedding is just for 18-20 hours a day. It is still not for 24 hours or days or even weeks. Protest is totally unjustified.

2. Both the President and the PM are busy abroad working for the welfare of the people of Pakistan. Such news from home disturbs and distracts their concentration.

3. Loadshedding is not the creation of PPP’s government. Why should the protest take place in the fifth year of their rule?

4. Roti, kapra aur makaan is a divine slogan. No where it says makaan with electricity. Insulting this divine slogan is not only treason but also a great insult to Shaheed BB, Shaheed ZAB and Maadar-e-Jamhooriat Nusrat Bhutto graves. Insulting shaheeds and heroes of Pakistan is a straight act of treason.

5. The Treasury has no money; hence IPPs can’t be paid. Is it the fault of the ruling PPP? If SBP has refuses to print more notes despite demand, then why is SBP Governor made independent? Constitution should be amended to place this governor of State Bank under Nargis Sethi. She can handle things in the best way. Nargis is way underutilised for her talents.

6. Protestors break public property and get even killed and injured. Is Shahbaz Sharif persuading them to do so?

Shahbaz Sharif should be tried under Article 6 of the Constitution by full bench of SC. I am sure SC will give its judgement in a year or two. The case against Shahbaz Sharif is very simple. Let the raped girl of Sheikhupura wait for justice.
