An Indian delegation, headed by Kuldeep Nayyer, went to Gujranwala on Monday to spread the message of peace.
The delegation attended the launching ceremony of a book, Jidojeha-e-Hyat, written by advocate Jalil Ahmed Khan at the District Council Hall Gujranwala.
Nayyer said the people of both countries were facing the same sort of exploitation as the proletariat section was exploited by the bourgeoisie thus the people of both the neighbouring countries should stand together to fight against the common evil.
He said one needs to light a candle instead of cursing the darkness and suppressed people of both the countries should join hands for the insurance of their rights. He said that class conflict is increasing day by day in both the countries as in India 3 crore people sleep unfed in India despite the growth in GDP and same sort of crisis is prevalent in Pakistan and we are here to express solidarity with the people of Pakistan so that both the countries could work together for the betterment of this region. He maintained that if the European countries could make EU union why couldn’t we. He added that instead of looking towards the West we should capitalize our own potential as we have much more potential complemented with glorious traditions and this amalgamation could manifest to make a prosperous South East Asia. He said even after 60 years “we are not able to make India a true secular state as we have witnessed the atrocities against Sikhs and Muslims in Indian Gujrat and Pakistan is also facing the problem of terrorism so all should strive to spread the message of peace across the border to built a peaceful South Asia and for that we have to open trade insuring people to people contact thus bring the people of both the countries together so that we could work together and grow”. He said Quaid-e-Azam and Gandhi both stood for the cause to build a society based on the principles of humanity but now Pakistanis as well as Indians failed to accomplish that target as we have anti peace elements in both the countries.
