All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Secretary General Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said on Tuesday that the ruling elite should ensure solution of prevailing electricity nightmare in the country instead of resorting torture tactics upon people protesting against power outages.
In a press statement released on Tuesday from APML Central Secretariat, Barrister Saif said that the masses had been confronting worst electricity shortfall since last four years but the ruling alliance didn’t introduce any mechanism to tackle this mounting economy challenge.
12 to 18 hours load shedding in rural as well as in urban areas and particularly in industrial areas have resulted business failure, economic collapse and massive unemployment in the country and despite all this buzzing menace, the ruling government seems senseless with the intensity of this looming crisis and making foreign trips to seek pleasure and gaiety, Barrister Saif said.
He said further that the circular debt during last four years had increased alarmingly that hinted at mismanagement, corruption and incompetent approach of PPP and its coalition partners to address this core issue.
The masses in the country have left with no other option to resort to protests to convey their voice to the authorities concerned and even then the incumbent leadership doesn’t seem serious to address the public grievances on this grave issue, Saif said, added that at one side the masses were facing worst electricity challenge but on the other side were receiving haunting electricity bills with increased and added surcharges in monthly bills.
