Bangladesh High Commission to Pakistan Suhrab Hossain celebrated 41st Anniversary of Independence and National Day of Bangladesh with due fervour on Monday.
The Bangladesh high commissioner ceremonially hoisted the Bangladesh national flag over the chancery premises in the morning. Officers and officials of all strata of the mission and Bangladeshi expatriates were present on the occasion.
Later, the participants, at a discussion on Independence and National Day stressed the need for highlighting the history of independence of Bangladesh to its present posterity. The high commissioner called upon the Bangladeshi expatriates to contribute their might to their respective fields in promoting the image of the motherland besides upholding the acquired successes in various sectors of Bangladesh abroad.
Recalling the great contributions of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Suhrab Hossain prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of Bangla Bandhu. At the outset, the messages of the president, prime minister and foreign minister of Bangladesh were read out before the participants of the day’s programme.
