Outages fuel violence in Fsd

One protester was killed while two others sustained serious injuries when security guard of a petrol pump opened fire at them during protest demonstration against prolonged power loadshedding in Lahore.
According to the details, enraged demonstrators attacked a fuel station in Lahore and tried to set it on fire. A security guard on duty at the petrol pump located at Dargogha opened fire on the protestors in a bid to prevent them from attacking the pump.
As a result one of the protesters was killed and another injured. The firing sparked more violence and the protestors blocked roads and burnt tyres, chanting slogans against the federal government and the PEPCO.
Police rushed to the spot and used tear gas to disperse them. Protesters also closed GT road and pelted stones on passing by vehicles.
In Daroghawala and Shalimar areas of Lahore, a large number of people gathered and blocked the road by setting tires on fire. The protesters also forcibly got the shops closed.
It is pertinent to mention that the country a is going through long power cuts owing to short fall of about 6500 MW.
Citizens in almost all the cities in Punjab have been holding protest demonstration for the last three days against unannounced electricity load shedding including in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, the industrial hubs of the Province.
In Faisalabad, angry protesters blocked the Samundari road and attacked several vehicles. On the other hand, police witnessed the entire scene as silent spectator, sources added.
The distraught people, protesting against the protracted hours of load shedding, took to road and staged a novel demonstration. Firstly, they danced to the beat of dhol (drum) on Sumandri Road; but, before long, they developed aggression and went on rampage, destroying two vehicles.
The angry youths, wielding batons, forced the closure of bazaar and then headed to the bus stop, where they unleashed their fury over two cars.
The protesters said the power outages have led to the closure of business completely and they have become jobless.
