Bravo! We have our own Einsteins and Steve Jobs. Moosa Feroz, the 15-year-old Pakistani student has won a gold medal in the Online World Mathematics Competition held in Australia, which is a great distinction, a big achievement.
About five million children from 100 counties around the globe took part in the competition which was held in the first week of March. Once again Pakistanis have proved that they are no less than the civilised, the educated and the advanced countries of the world.
Last week, Pakistan lifted the Asia Cup in cricket. Earlier, Pakistan beat England in the Test cricket series on their home turf. Arfa Karim Randhawa, who died of cancer recently, was awarded the youngest Microsoft engineer certificate, whom Bill Gates invited to US and awarded the distinction. Ali Moeen Nawazish, another young Pakistani, made a world record in the O’ Levels.
Last year, a Pakistan military contingent got a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for breaking the world record of wading through the obstacles. Around 750 soldiers from across the world descended on the Brecon Beacons in Wales to suffer through one of the toughest exercises ever devised. The Cambrian patrol took two days to complete and tested the soldiering skills of the teams as they crossed some of the most arduous terrain one could imagine.
The list continues, the achievement go on. The vibrant nation perhaps waits for an able leadership. Probably, the younger generation waits for their time and turn to come. Hats off to Moosa Feroz and all others who dare.
