The prices of vegetables increased at Sunday bazaars in the city while DCO also paid a surprise visit of bazaars. Lahore District Coordination Officer Noor ul Amin Mengal paid visit to Shadman, Islampura and Karim Park, Ravi Road Sunday bazaars and took serious notice of inappropriate arrangements and selling of substandard fruits and vegetables.
He ordered TMO Data Ganj Bakhsh Town to improve the arrangements of the Sunday bazaars. He warned the stallholders for selling substandard fruits and vegetables and said first warning will be issued then they will be fined and later their stalls will be cancelled. However, he announced that such stallholders will be given cash reward who sell standard and cheap items and a three-member committee had been constituted for this purpose which will select the best stallholders. The DCO on the complaint of a citizen exempted the Islampura Sunday Bazaar from parking fee.
