Asad-Ul-Khan from Mardan won the 1st Lahore Wheel Chair Marathon that was held here at the Lberty Main Boulevard on Sunday morning.
Organised by the Punjab Paralympics Association in collaboration with the Punjab Olympics Association, around 175 wheel chairs players took part in four categories.
The chief guest for opening ceremony was Syed Shahid Ali, IOC Member in Pakistan and President Punjab Olympic Association.
In the first category of polio Asad-ulllah Khan of Mardan for his win picketed Rs 15000 while Kamran (Karachi) received the second place prize money Rs 10000 and Ahmad Yar of Lahore was third and got Rs 5000.
In the Spinal Cord category, Muhammad Raseed of Karachi was first and won Rs 15000, Aftab (Lahore) for winning second place received Rs 10000. The third place went to Lahore’s Farryad Ali, who got Rs 5000. In the female’s category, Miss Tehmina (Multan), Miss Aysha (Multan) and Miss Neelam (Lahore) were first, second and third and were awarded Rs 15000, Rs.10000 and Rs 5000.
In the fourth Tri-Cycle Category, Nawaz (Lahore) was first and got Rs 15000 while Ramil and Mustafa were second and third and both these players from Lahore received Rs 10000 and Rs 5000 cash awards.
Usman Anwar Director General Sports Board Punjab was the chief guest for closing ceremony and gave away cash prizes of Rs 120000 and trophies to the winners.
Idris khawaja, Secretary PbOA, Punjab Police Zulfiqar Ali Butt SHO Liberty Police Station, Traffic Wardans and Dr. Rizwan Naseer director General rescue 1122 were also preset on the occasion.
