Former ambassador to the US, Husain Haqqani on Saturday declined to appear before the “memogate” commission mandated by the Supreme Court to probe the memo scandal. Husain Haqqani’s counsel Sajid Tanoli said his client had threats to his life in Pakistan, hence, he could not appear before the commission at Islamabad High Court (IHC) in Pakistan.
Haqqani submitted an application with the apex court, requesting the commission to record his statement through video conferencing, just as the statement of American-Pakistani businessman Mansoor Ijaz was earlier recorded, according to Tanoli. Haqqani’s other lawyer, Zahid Bukhari said his client had earlier appealed to the memo commission to record his statement via video link, but the commission asked him to refer it to the Supreme Court.
“If a person who writes against Pakistan can get his statements recorded via video link, then Haqqani can do it as well,” remarked Bukhari. “We will act according to the Supreme Court’s decision.” Haqqani, who is currently in London, has been summoned by the memo commission on March 26. The commission had allowed Haqqani to travel abroad on the condition that he will come back to Pakistan within four days of his summon.
And the Supreme Court lets him get away with it. No wonder Supreme Court commands no respect any more. Everybody is openly making fun of their decisions and poor justices can't do a thing about it. I kinda feel sorry for them but they brought it upon themselves by only making decisions that saves their face.
If Mansoor Ijaz can give his statement via video link, so can Hussain Haqqani. Judges should be impartial. They seem to have an agenda for being partisan in favour of Mansoor Ijaz. Agencies are the biggest threat to Hussain Haqqani. It is a matter of record that our courts are utterly helpless when Agencies pick up persons clandestinely and even kill them in cold blood.
Haqqani, please do not come to Pakistan. Our Judges and Agencies cannot be trusted.
Haqqani is the culprit and is scared of death…He is a traitor and very soon justice will be done for this black sheep of pakistan. Both Zardari and Haqqani knew about May2, operation since they were hand in gloves with the Americans and they got the money for their silence.
I hope Haqqani and Zardari will be hanged publicly like Col Ghadaffi

He would be living in prime minister's house with full security protection. Just because the security forces (army) picked up nawaz sharif from the PM house a few years ago does not mean that they will pick haqqani up also. The coward has no guts and he knows that he was wrote the memo. Thats why he is so scared. Weasel.
