Brigadier Ali, who is facing court martial proceedings for allegedly having ties with the militant group Hizb-ut-Tehrir, has requested the Abbottabad commission to record his statement on the US invasion at Osama bin Laden’s compound in the garrison city. According to a private TV channel, Brig Ali has requested the commission to record his statement regarding the May 2 operation by US special troops.
He said the fall of civilian government after the Kargil incident, and the Abbottabad operation had similarities, and both the incidents had impressed him, a report quoting sources said. Brig Ali stated that all the information was relating to the country’s interest and he wanted to convey it to the people concerned before his death.
