Corps commander confers military awards

Corps Commander Lt Gen Mohammad Ijaz Chaudhry conferred awards upon various military officers and martyrs on Friday in a simple but graceful ceremony at the Corps Auditorium in connection with the Pakistan Day.
A large number of serving and retired military officials, relatives or awardees attended the ceremony.
The Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to: Brig Pervaiz Ahmed Aftab, Brig Azhar Manzoor, Brig Hamid Abdullah, Brig Muhammad Azam, Brig Farrukh Saeed, Brig Furqan Uddin and Colonel Waheed Akhtar.
The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to: Group Capt Muhammad Saleem, Capt Azhar Iqbal, Lt Col Abdul Rauf, Lt Col Muhammad Ali Khan, Lt Col Zahid Mahmood, Lt Col Muhammad Mazhar Jahangir, Lt Col Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Lt Col Taqi Ahmad, Lt Col Shahab Ahmed, Lt Col Nabi Bux, Maj Muhammad Khalid Rafi, Maj Rao Abdus Samad Khan Sajid, Maj Syed Abdullah, Maj Muhammad Tarique, Maj Manzoor Hasan Khan, Maj Sayed Akhlaq Muhammad, Maj Naveed Shoukat, Maj Amjad Mahmood.

Addressing the function, the corps commander congratulated the awardees and also paid rich tribute to the martyrs. He reiterated the army’s resolve in defending the motherland, especially when the cunning enemy has confronted the country with internal and external challenges.
