Controversy mar relieved atmosphere for officials of Pakistani cricket board, dreaming for the tour of Bangladeshi cricket team to Pakistan, as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) found reluctant to send its team on Pakistan’s tour in April 2012.
According to reports, this reluctant behavior of BCB officials was observed after Asia Cup final during unofficial meetings of chairman PCB and BCB officials however, chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf denied such reports on his arrival to homeland at Airport Friday night.
He said, “so far BCB has not refused sending its team to Pakistan, they have made a report after guided tour in Pakistan on security related issues but I am not aware of its content”.
Asharf did not mention any specific date to finalize this tour with BCB nor did he give timeframe to resolve this issue.
It is evident that PCB is striving best to bring back international cricket to Pakistan which is stopped after an incident of firing on Sri Lankan team in Lahore.
It was expected that Bangladeshi team may visit Pakistan after BCB Chairman Mustafa Kamal visited Pakistan few days back and reviewed and appreciated all measures taken by PCB and Pakistani government for the security of Bangladeshi team.
Disinclined behavior of BCB on Pakistan’s tour may also upshot the understanding between both cricket boards for supporting Mustafa Kamal as president of International Cricket Council (ICC).
Official announcement from either cricket board is still badly awaited to resolve this controversy however, Pakistan needs to “do more” to arrange any international tour of any team to its soil for proving itself suitable for international cricket.

  1. As a self respecting nation we should stop grovelling before the BCB. If they do not want to come, so be it. Have a heart Zaka Ashraf.
