12th Annual ‘Mehfil-e-Mustafa’

Under the auspices of Lahore Sarwari the 12th annual ‘Mehfil-e-Mustafa’ and Pakistan Day celebration concluded yesterday at the Cricket Ground, Mian Mir Darbaar. A rally was also conducted from Sadar roundabout till Darbaar Mian Mir for Pakistan Day. The founder of ‘Sarwari Jamaat’ Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Baba Jani Sarkaar Allah Walay presided over the event. Whereas, Provincial Minister Education Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman was the chief guest on the occasion.
Hazrat Sakhi Sultan in his address stated that once again the Muslims of the region have to unite for the uplift and prosperity of Muslim, like we did 72 years ago.
He also asserted that we must infuse Islam into our personal and collective lives, and added that the day was of immense significance as far as the history of the nation is concerned. He added that 23rd March was the day of promise and that the main reason behind the downfall of Muslims was the increasing distance from the teachings of Islam. He was of the opinion that media’s promotion of Indian culture has deteriorated the core of our society and that terrorism and extremism have shrouded the real core of Islamic teachings. He stressed upon the need of understanding Islam in its true spirit.
Shuja-ur-Rehman extolled the importance of 23rd March in his address and added that on this day Muslim League united the Muslims of the sub-continent on a common platform, and similarly Muslim League is continuing its endeavour to save the country even in the present time.
