Lawmakers back new rules of engagements with US

Lawmakers Friday met Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and supported the government move for new rules of engagements between Pakistan and the US.
They said that the move will surely be based on mutual respect and mutual interest for which the credit goes to the leadership of the Prime Minister, a statement from the PM office said.
They said all the Parliamentarians are also united in strengthening democracy as it serves the National interests according to the aspirations of the people.
The members also congratulated the Prime Minister for guiding the country’s foreign policy in a direction to serve the National interests in accordance with the aspirations of the people.
They appreciated the role of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security for framing comprehensive recommendations on the new rules of engagements between Pakistan and USA,NATO and ISAF forces.
They also apprised the PM of problems of their areas.
Those who called on the Prime Minister include Nawabzada Malik Ammad Khan, MNA Ms. Natasha Daultana, MNA and her father Mr. Zahid Khan Daultana.
Malik Ammad briefed the Prime Minister about his meeting with EU Parliamentarians who played an active role to secure tariff concessions on the exportable items from Pakistan.
Malik Ammad also apprised the Prime Minister about the ongoing development projects of electricity, gas and road infrastructure in his constituency
The Prime Minister told Natasha Daultana, that he would inaugurate the Chistian-Bahawalnagar bridge in the month of April the completion of which would reduce the distance about 40 km between Chistian and Bahawalnagar, said the Prime Minister.
