FUUAST awards degrees on 4th convocation

As many as 962 students were awarded degrees at the fourth convocation of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) here on Thursday.
Some 19 students received gold medals for their outstanding performance.
International Islamic University (IIU) Rector Professor Fateh Mohammad Malik was chief guest on the occasion.
The students from the departments of MBA, BBA, MA Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Urdu, M Phil and PhD received degrees and medals.
Those brilliant students who were given gold medals include Salman Amir and Muhammad Muzzamil of BS Computer Sciences; Bilal Yamin and Ehtasham Haider of MSc Computer Sciences; Zohaib Arfi, Sadia Haleem, Tayyaba Mumtaz and Umer Rehman of BS Applied Physics; Nisara Parveen, Aqeel Zahid, Waqar Anwar, Ayesha Noreen, Sonia Arif and Zulfiqar Ali of MBA; Muhammad Raza, Tayyaba Kalsoom and Marium Naseem of MSc Economics and Umair Iqbal of BSc Electrical Engineering.
While addressing the participants, Fateh Malik said that educated youth is a national asset and they should play their role for prosperity of the country.
He said promotion of Urdu language was need of the hour as Urdu is widely spoken language in all the Middle East countries especially in India and Afghanistan.
Prof Fateh Malik said FUUAST is playing crucial role in promoting the national language of the country.
“Youth is the backbone of any country and they must utilise their capabilities and equip themselves with latest education for the betterment of the country”, he said. Earlier, Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Qaiser said FUUAST was based on the unique ideology and dream of “Babaey Urdu” Maulvi Abdul Haq where the students are getting knowledge of science and technology besides Urdu language.
