Forces will defend motherland at all costs: Peshawar corps commander

Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani on Friday said the officials of law enforcement agencies would defend every inch of the motherland and stand like a rock to foil the nefarious designs of the anti-state elements to protect the solidarity and sovereignty of the country. Addressing Corps Investiture Ceremony held at Corps Auditorium on the occasion of Pakistan Day to confer Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamga-e-Basalat to officers and martyrs, who rendered matchless sacrifices for protection of their motherland. “The significance of the day is to recall those who sacrificed their life and remember those who rendering meritorious services for the protection of motherland and its people,” General Rabbani added.
He said the country was passing through a critical stage and facing many insurmountable challenges including militancy and extremism which was a threat to the sovereignty and solidarity of the country, adding that the law enforcement agencies were ready to foil designs of enemies. The corps commander said history was the witness that the country’s forces had not been subdued on any front and faced greatest challenges with professional exuberance and courage. He said the government’s writ had been restored and militancy had been obliterated from major areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Soon militancy and insurgency would be eradicated from the area completely,” he said.
