PIA moves court against ‘malicious’ campaign

PIA on Wednesday filed a law suit against the Transparency International-Pakistan (TIP) and 17 others for permanent injunction in the Sindh High Court for restraining continuing malicious and baseless campaign regarding purchase of five aircraft from the Boeing Company.
The next hearing of the case was fixed for March 29, a statement issued by the airline said. “Rasheed A Rizvi, senior advocate Supreme Court will appear on behalf of PIA,” it said. Plaintiff PIA pleaded that Defendant No.1 Ms TIP in connivance with other defendants launched a campaign against the PIA maligning and defaming the same by claiming that the deal between Boeing Company and plaintiff is “shady” and in violation of procurement laws and that the same had no approval of the PPRA.
Representatives of plaintiff time and again clarified the so-called allegation of defendant No. 1 such allegations raised are incorrect, malicious and baseless.
