Nation to celebrate Pakistan Day on Friday

The nation will celebrate Pakistan Day on Friday with traditional zeal to commemorate the Lahore Resolution passed in 1940.
The day would dawn with 31 gun salutes in the federal and 21 gun salutes in provincial capitals.
The day would be observed as a public holiday in all federal and provincial government offices, banks and private offices.
The national flag will be hoisted on important public and private buildings throughout the country and all Pakistani missions abroad.
This year too, the permanent feature of the armed forces parade on Pakistan Day has been cancelled.
TV channels and FM radio channels will air special programmes and newspapers will bring out suppliments to highlight importance of the Day.
Political, literary organizations and educational institutions have organized special functions to mark the Day.
People will visit the Mausoleum of the founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi and Mausoleum of Dr Allama Iqbal to pray for their souls.
Government leaders will also pay visits to their Mausoleums to lay floral wreaths on the graves and offer fateha.
Pakistan Day will also be celebrated in Azad Kashmir, northern areas and tribal regions.
The Day will also be celebrated by Pakistani embassies and high commissions abroad. Messages from the President and the Prime Minister will be read out in functions at diplomatic missions.
