Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said metro bus service project is of vital importance as it will bring a revolution in the life of the people. He said launching metro bus service will result in availability of speedy and comfortable transport facility of international standard to the masses and the passengers including elderly persons, children, women and students will be able to reach their destination in time.
He directed that the construction work on the project should be completed immediately.
He was addressing a meeting to review the pace of implementation of metro bus service project on Wednesday. Bus Rapid Transit System Chairman Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, Assembly Members Malik Saif ul Malook, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Dr Saeed Elahi, Hafiz Mian Nauman, Mian Mohsin Latif, Kh Imran Nazir, Dr Asad Ashraf and others were present on the occasion.
The CM said 32 kilometre long track of metro bus service from Kahna to Shahadra will be of international standard and a shining example of traffic engineering. He said plans should be made for the construction of track from Shahadra to Kalma Chowk so that this project could be completed as early as possible for the benefit of the people. He said development work on BRT project should be continued without interruption. He said parking plazas will be constructed at suitable places on Ferozepur Road for providing safe parking facility to traders as well as general public.
