Two policemen, including a sub-inspector, were killed and two others were seriously injured when a remote controlled bomb hit a police van patrolling on Kohat Road in the provincial capital on Tuesday evening. According to bomb disposal squad officials, about one kilogramme of explosives were used in the bomb and its target was Additional Station House Officer (SHO) Hazrat Ali. One of the dead cops was identified as Hussain Khan.
In the last few months, targeted attacks against police have increased and several policemen have been killed in the fresh wave of terrorism. A few days ago, SP (Rural) Kalam Khan was killed in a suicide attack when he was on his way to office from his residence in Hayatabad.
Terribly sad. Improvised explosive devices claim innocent lives again.
With improvised explosive devices in use by the terrorists, every Pakistani citizen is at the risk of terrorism.
US should also raise the issue of improvised explosive devices.
