Eight pilgrims were killed and nearly 60 others injured when a bus fell into a ravine in district Jhang, police said on Tuesday. Several injured were registered critical and after an initial investigation it was found that the accident occurred due to speed. Several injured said the bus plunged into a ravine while taking a turn at Darbar Mai Baap for homage in Haveli Bahadar Shah.
Police said that the bus heading to Sakhi Sarwar was full of pilgrims from Jaranwala. Rescue 1122 was on the scene immediately and transferred the critically injured to District Hospital Jhang. Other wounded devotees were shifted to Rural Health Center Haveli Bahar Shah.
